 and decorative furnishings are symbols of

Feng Shui.  According to Wikipedia

 Feng Shui is a  Chinese practice utilizing a

philosophical system of harmonizing everyone 

with the surrounding environment.

The photo above is a shot from our wedding 

album… The Hawaiian lei is a celebration of

affection, good tidings and fortune …

The soft white flowers are sweet ,

fragrant and fragile but are woven together 

firmly, with a green vine called a maile.

Its origin is from the tropical rain forests in

the islands ~ symbolic of strength and unity

in the marriage ( ChicagoTribune.com)
