Two Halves of a Day
Ben H. posts for this week’s
challenge: ” … share an image that has two
clear halves, literally or figuratively…”
For my post this week, I am excited to share
our recent trip to the island of Kaua’i.
I was fortunate to celebrate my second
Hawaiian ceremony, to mark the rising of
the sun with the chanting of E Ala E…
( to awaken).
The Sunrise is a significant event ~ it is a renewal. The chant is a call to leave all the heavy burdens of yesterday behind and start fresh for a new journey…

The latter part of the day, was just as
magnificent! We discovered more of the
island’s pristinely beauty.
It was a thrilling Wailua River Tour plus a
Waimea Canyon adventure, with a bus driver
who gave us Q and A on legends, trivia and
and bits of history of Kaua’i/Hawaii…
For all of us who have some days when we see the glass half~full or half~ empty: “The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; The pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious of the rose.”
